Terms of Service

Last updated: July 15, 2026

These terms govern your use of Hello, the app and website operated at ilovehello.com. By creating an account you agree to them.

Who can use Hello

You must be at least 18 years old. You must provide accurate information — including your real first name, a truthful birthdate, and photos of yourself. Accounts that misrepresent identity or age will be removed.

The spirit of the thing

Hello exists to help people meet respectfully in real life. Use it that way. Specifically, you agree not to:

  • Harass, stalk, follow, or intimidate anyone, in the app or in person;
  • Send sexual, hateful, or threatening content;
  • Upload photos that aren't of you, or that contain nudity, violence, or other prohibited content;
  • Check in at venues where you are not physically present;
  • Use Hello for commercial solicitation, promotion, or spam;
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or programmatically access the service.

Meeting people carries risk

Hello connects people who are physically near each other, but we do not run background checks and cannot vouch for any user. Use your judgment, meet in the public venue where you both are, and trust your instincts. You are responsible for your interactions with other users — in the app and in person.

Moderation and enforcement

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Hello. Every photo is reviewed automatically before it becomes visible, and every message is screened before delivery. You can report any user from their card, a received hello, or a chat, and you can block any user instantly — blocking removes them from everything you see, and both reporting and blocking notify our team immediately. We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours by removing the content and ejecting the user who provided it. Accounts that violate these terms may be suspended or terminated — including permanently, without refund of anything and without prior notice where safety requires it.

Your content

You own the content you post. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display it as needed to operate the service (for example, showing your check-in photo to people at your venue). This license ends when your content expires or you delete your account, except for records retained for safety or legal reasons.

The service is provided as-is

We work hard to keep Hello reliable, but it is provided without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or your interactions with other users.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. You can stop using Hello and delete your account at any time.
